Some councilors complained about the absence of representatives of the Town hall at the beginning of the sessions scheduled to discuss the Development plan presented by the District administration arguing that the mayor himself must attend the plenary sessions to argue his proposal.

The “Santa Marta 500+” Development Plan“was presented to the District Council on April 30 for approval, it includes the works and actions that will be carried out Carlos Pinedo Cuello mayor of the city in his term of government which ends in the year 2027.

“Santa Marta, 500 +” addresses the present of our city and its citizens, but it also leads us to reconcile, to leave behind lost time and to unite again and work together for the city we want, to feel that pride of being Samarians again, to recover our identity and put the name of Santa Marta in the international arena towards the 500 years, water, education, employment, security, sustainable development, among others. We will work tirelessly on this in these four years,” highlighted the mayor. Carlos Pinedo Cuello during the presentation of the plan.

According to the Secretary of Planning, Patricia Caicedo, the budget of the District Development Plan contemplates an investment of 7,669 billion pesos, that is, 1.5 billion per year, with 419 prioritized goals.

The District Development Plan focuses on five fundamental purposes: Key enablers of development, Santa Marta Sustainable and Planned, Santa Marta Advances in a Modern social policy to Transform Lives, Santa Marta Productive and with more Income Opportunities and Open and Participatory Government.
