A large landslide was recorded on the morning of this Saturday, May 4, in the neighborhood La Esneda, in Dosquebradas, Risaralda.
According to the first reports from relief agencies, at least cfour people could be trapped inside a house that would have been left under the landslide.
Two years ago, a large landslide was recorded in this sector, leaving 16 people dead during this tragedy.
“We are supporting and we will be as far as necessary. There is a long-sung risk here and it has to do with this slope that permanently threatens this community and even more so when these rainy seasons occur. We must find a way out of the risk that this community suffers, which is subjected to a tragedy every so often. We need to articulate with the Government and put pressure on the National Government,” said the mayor of Pereira, Mauricio Salazar.
Relief agencies recovered the lifeless body of a man and rescued a young man who was taken to a hospital.
The official report is two dead and three injured so far.
