Start-Up Chile, Corfo’s public accelerator, is in the final days of the open call for the BIG 8 generation, which covers the Build, Ignite and Growth acceleration programs, with the aim of supporting technology-based ventures with high potential. of growth.

Applications are open until Tuesday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. for startups from all over Chile and anywhere in the world. Selected projects will receive co-financing equity free (i.e. free participation), connections and intensive acceleration work for at least 4 months.

“This new call is an opportunity for innovative companies to develop and grow their projects from Chile. Entrepreneurs from all over the world and from various industries are welcome here, which have in common using technology as an engine of change for the well-being of people and for diversified economic development. We especially hope to receive more entrepreneurs to continue promoting the female presence in the ecosystem,” said the CEO of Start-Up Chile, Carmen Contreras.

The BIG 8 generation will begin its acceleration program in September. In addition to co-financing, selected companies will be able to access other benefits, such as physical space to work, advice from mentors and the possibility of connecting with large companies for early feedback, business and collaboration opportunities.

Three programs

Start-Up Chile offers three program alternatives for startups, depending on the stage of development they are in.

Firstly, there is Build, a 4-month program that offers co-financing of $15 million to support the acceleration of early-stage startups, that is, those that have everything from a validated idea to an initial prototype.

It is followed by Ignite, also 4 months old, which provides a fund of $30 million and is aimed at those startups that have a minimum viable product and seek to achieve product-market fit.

Finally, for companies that are in the stage of expanding their business and raising capital, there is Growth, which extends for 8 months and commits support of $75 million.

To encourage female participation in the ecosystem, Start-Up Chile has a series of measures as part of its Female Founder Factor strategy. Among them, that at least 50% of the selected Build projects are led by women, and that Ignite and Growth entrepreneurs can access a higher percentage of co-financing from Corfo (90% and 60%, respectively). ).
