Operations carried out by the Police in the north of Bucaramanga allowed the seizure of two firearms and the capture of three people who are being investigated if they used these items for theft and intimidation.
There are already 190 people who, so far in 2024, have been captured in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking or carrying firearms.
The first two arrests were made in the Chapinero neighborhood north of Bucaramanga where the aliases ‘Yohanderson’, 26 years old, and ‘Ángel’, 23 years old, were detained.
In their possession they had a firearm, a revolver type with six cartridges inside, and they were traveling on a motorcycle. It is being investigated what actions these subjects of foreign nationality intended.
“They were surprised in the 15B race with Calle 3 in Bucaramanga. During the operation, the motorcycle they were riding on was seized, an effective means of committing criminal activities. We leave them at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office for the crime of carrying firearms and we investigate whether they are involved in other criminal actions,” reported Major Diego Montealegre Fierro, commander of the North Police Station.

They found him with modified cartridges
In the Café Madrid neighborhood, in the sector known as the Túnel, north of the city, a 22-year-old subject known by the alias ‘Juan’ was captured.
According to the citizen complaint, alias ‘Juan’ fired shots into the air seeking to intimidate the residents of this sector of Bucaramanga.
Uniformed officers from the quadrant arrived at the scene and identified the subject, finding in his possession a pistol-type weapon with two modified cartridges.
“The captured person and the firearm were made available to the Attorney General’s Office, who will be in charge of presenting the captured person before a Judge to define his legal situation. With this action we avoid a possible crime of personal injury and even homicide,” indicated the commander of the North Station.
