Through a summary trial, Jonathan Eduardo Jaime (29 years old) was sentenced to life imprisonment for the femicide of a 15-year-old teenager.
Last July 2, the victim was on Francisco de Aguirre and San Miguel avenues, Canal Norte neighborhood of the capital, celebrating a birthday with his brothers. Around 7 o’clock, Jaime, who also participated in the meeting, left the place with the teenager towards his home located in Barrio 180 Homes, in Las Talitas. Once at the property, he hit her and sexually assaulted her.
According to the investigation, with clear intentions to kill her and achieve impunity, since it was a known person, taking advantage of the power relationship, due to her status as a woman and being a minor, he began to hurt her until he suffocated and killed her. She then took her body and threw it into a blind well, covering it with clothing and sealing it with debris and a large amount of grass. Still, the victim’s body was found the next day.
In a hearing held yesterday, the assistant Gustavo Benjamín Zavalíafollowing the prosecutor’s instructions Pedro Gallopresented the agreement that the parties had reached.
Zavalía explained that the agreed sentence was life imprisonment because he was considered the material author and criminally responsible for the crime of sexual abuse with carnal access, in real competition with homicide doubly aggravated by criminis causa and femicide. For his part, Jaime acknowledged his guilt by stating that he committed the crime. Judge Sebastian Mardiza approved the agreement.
