Finally, the draft Agreement was filed, through which the municipal development plan 2024 – 2027, called: “Actions to Recover Neiva” is adopted by the Mayor, engineer Germán Casagua and his government team on last December 30. April. This document must be widely deliberated and approved no later than May 31. If this date is not met, in a chaotic scenario within the Municipal Council, it would have to be implemented by municipal decree.
There is a great expectation of this navigation chart for Neiva, through concrete actions and executions of each of the programs and thus be able to improve the quality of life of the people of Neiva, which would have a cost of almost four billion pesos within the four-year period. . This financial aspect must be strengthened with more management in public finances, cooperation with other territorial entities of the departmental order and the National Government.
Among the strategic projects of this Development Plan are the following works: The construction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant – WWTP, the road solution connecting the Tesoro sector – Caña Brava, the road construction – continuation of Calle 6 to Carrera 52 , the Guillermo Plazas Alcid Stadium, the construction of the Botanical Garden City park and the Cacao – Curíbano park, the Animal Welfare Center, the renovation of Santander park, the construction and fitting out of the Malecón Río Magdalena and the Ronda Río Las Ceibas park .
In the rural sector, the adaptation of public space to improve the social environment in the town center of El Caguán is planned, the adaptation of public space to improve the social environment in the town center of Guacirco and San Antonio de Anaconia, among others.
Also planned is the construction of phase nine of the works to control the channel and mitigate the threat of flooding of the Las Ceibas River, the construction of retaining walls to mitigate the risk affecting the community and the construction of the third phase of the Jorge Villamil Cordovéz music park. Additionally, the construction and improvement of the urban road network, the construction of a footprint plate in the rural area and the urban renewal of the center of Neiva, Magdalena portal, are also being explored.
From the Council of Neiva, we have proposed an intense and deliberative agenda and that from the First Commission it will be implemented through public hearings with various sectors and communities, so that we can carry out a thorough review of each of the strategic axes, guaranteeing that reflected corresponds to the most felt needs of the Neivans.
Personally, I have requested that the current territorial public policies be reviewed, so that they are harmonized with this navigation chart and that the guarantee of compliance with the municipal agreements, which have been approved in the corporation and these not simply remain in letter or texts to frame.
Let the discussion, deliberation and approval of the development plan begin then and thus begin once and for all the investments of this Municipal Government, which must accelerate.
