This approval is subject to two conditions, where IAG will hire an audit to ensure compliance with these.

Conditions of Civil Aeronautics to approve integration of Iberia and Air Europa

  • The parties, through Iberia, undertake to maintain, under the current terms and without prejudice to any updates that may be mutually agreed, of the Interline Agreements (Special Proration Agreements) and Code Shared with Avianca, Latam Airlines, and Copa Airlines for traffic between Colombia and Europe, all subject to the condition of reciprocity and with a duration of 10 years from the closing of the transaction.
  • From the closing of the transaction, the parties will have the obligation to maintain, as a whole and in total, at least four frequencies without weekly stops between Medellin and Madrid and 119,808 non-stop round-trip seats per year, for a maximum period of three years. This condition will be postponed and/or suspended in the event that the events provided for in section 5.1 occur. of the Resolution.

“It is clarified that, as of the date of this publication, the transaction has not yet materialized, “so that the conditions described will only be enforceable once the transaction is closed, a fact that will be informed by Iberia and Air Europa through their websites,” Air Europa said in a statement.
