Concern in Ibagué over the illegal occupation of the old Minerva Clinic located on Carrera 1 and Calle Decima, where it is feared that the place will become a new “Bronx” within the city. In a video obtained by Econoticias, it is evident how homeless people have taken over the abandoned facilities of the old medical center.
In the images, a man is seen climbing the walls of the building until he manages to enter through a window. According to testimonies from residents of the area, the place has become a point of drug consumption, where some individuals even spend the night.
Despite complaints made by area residents, authorities have not taken concrete action to address the situation. Concern increases due to the proximity of the place to the Tolima government, recalling similar cases in other cities where drug consumption sites are located in areas close to government institutions.
It is important that the authorities take urgent measures to prevent the old Minerva Clinic from becoming a hotbed of crime and drug consumption. The community expects prompt intervention from local authorities to ensure safety and well-being in the area.
