In the back seat of a vehicle traveling to Corrientes, they found and rescued a carayá monkey this Wednesday, in an operation carried out on National Route 11, in Chaco.

The animal is in good health and was transferred to the Chaco Environmental Operational Brigade unit, as confirmed by official sources.

The discovery occurred during road controls carried out by personnel from the “Lapachito” Road Safety Section, dependent on Squadron 14 “Las Palmas”, when they proceeded to control a vehicle coming from the city of Formosa, which was traveling to the city. of Corrientes.

At the time of the inspection of the vehicle, the officials observed the presence of an animal transporter, so upon opening they discovered the presence of a wild animal of the “Alouatta Caraya” species, known as the carayá monkey, protected under the Law 22,421 of “Fauna Conservation”.

Faced with this situation, the uniformed officers intervened to the La Leonesa Rural Division of the Chaco Police, which transferred the animal to the Environmental Operational Brigade (BOA) unit to receive the corresponding care.

Meanwhile, the person involved will remain subject to the cause, in violation of Provincial Law No. 1429-R on “Management of wildlife resources and sport hunting.”
