The FARC dissidents warned that the lives of the two prosecutors and their companion who have been kidnapped in Cauca since April 20 would be in danger due to the military operations that are currently underway.
The armed group also requested that a specific area be cleared to accelerate a possible delivery of the kidnapped people.
Faced with this scenario, the Military Forces indicated that they continue to strengthen their operational capacity in the department of Cauca, after the incidents of public order disruption in which six soldiers have died in recent days.

“So far this year we have had 92 cases of kidnapping, a decrease of 30%, of those 62 cases, five of them are still active with seven victims in the departments of Cauca, Guainía and Arauca. As for Cauca, one of them is attributed to a crime group and in Cauca with the Central General Staff where the CTI officials are kidnapped,” said the director of Gaula, Colonel Elver Alfonso Sanabria.
