The first meeting of the Environmental Volunteering, which is an initiative of Deputy Galnares, began in Murphy, in the south of Santa Fe, with a broad call and presence of the Southern Regional Delegate Roberto Vergé, Isabel Bosco from Elortondo, Ezequiel Rodríguez and Mónica Nieto from Murphy , councilors Guillermo Gallo, Mariana Molina and Ana Sarbach from Villa Cañás, Silvina Arcangioli from Firmat, Cristian Bustamante from La Chispa, Damián Mateucci from Los Quirquinchos,

Cristian Vincenti from Sancti Spiritu and Lucrecia De Nenne from Carreras, as well as neighbors from Albarellos, Venado Tuerto, San Francisco de Santa Fe, Hughes and Wheelwright.

A Reciclar Santa Fe has its origins in the Environmental Volunteering program implemented in Venado Tuerto, which is based on a draft Environmental Volunteering Law promoted by Congresswoman Sofía Galnares. Who in this regard, expressed: “We know that in terms of recycling and the environment in general, shared efforts are required between local governments, the province, legislators and citizens, therefore, I decided to promote, in addition to the bill, this initiative of 4 meetings, taking the Recycle Venado model, to extend it to the rest of the province.”

“The situation in most localities in the province, but also in the country, is given by little information and environmental awareness, open dumps and pollution. To respond to that, with this Volunteering, I want to promote actions such as: training, cleaning of mini-dumps, lagoons and lakes, environmental education talks, visibility of ecopoints for waste separation and recycling, installation of composting stations,” explained the legislator.

“Volunteering generates social awareness, generates citizenship. I am convinced that citizens value much more the work of the volunteer neighbor who is selflessly inviting you to do things well, and this way is more effective when it comes to achieving specific objectives. Additionally, in the bill I encourage volunteers to receive a certificate to be able to present it to a potential employer both in the private and public spheres and that some minor penalties related to the environment be fulfilled with tasks in this volunteering,” Galnares continued.

Almost 100 people signed up. “We are very excited about the call, several towns in the north of the province signed up, so we are considering repeating it in that area.”
