Contagion effect: police and prisons in Corrientes also protest

Police, prison officers and teachers from Corrientes gathered this Wednesday in an assembly in front of the Government to demand an urgent salary adjustment and warned that they could set up a camp like the one still carried out by a sector of the Misiones Police.

The call was made through social networks: “Together with retirees, relatives of teachers and other public employees to demand an urgent salary restructuring that takes us out from below the poverty line.”

“Just as they have – addressing the provincial government of the radical Gustavo Valdes – to buy thousands of vans and trucks whose value exceeds more than 40 million pesos each, and they do not have to take our husbands and wives out of the poverty line the one that you have pushed with your policies of hunger and bonuses as if they were crumbs that you throw like we were your dogs, spending society’s money on big events, we will demand an immediate response otherwise we will proceed to stay as long as it takes necessary like colleagues from the neighboring province of Misiones,” said relatives of current and retired police officers.
