Through a statement on the social network xthe Government called on citizens to attend the event led by Milei, which will celebrate “the beginning of the process that resulted in Argentine Independence, the dismissal of Viceroy Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisneros and the swearing-in of the First Government Board of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata”.

The presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, made reference to the event this Wednesday and established a parallel between the fight for independence from Spanish yoke and the current Argentine political situation.

“The senators must decide if they give the people freedom or if we continue with this decadent Argentina,” said the spokesperson. This statement echoes a previous one where he highlighted that the people’s representatives must make a crucial decision about the future of the country.

Furthermore, Adorni compared the current situation with the historic moment in which figures such as Saavedra, Castelli, Paso, Belgrano and San Martín decided to free themselves from Spanish oppression. “Today the Argentines decided, or are deciding free themselves from the oppressive yoke of the political caste”, he claimed.

According to Adorni it will be “facing the people” and he invited them to “celebrate freedom while reflecting on the current state of the country.”
