“We are waiting for activity to rebound” – ADN

(ADN).- The Minister of Finance, Gabriel Sánchez, evaluated the economic situation of Río Negro, which, although it is marked by a sharp drop in activity and revenue, “activity is expected to rebound,” he said.

He stated that “the debt is at acceptable levels” and valued the Province’s commitment to suppliers and contractors who have been given predictability, reestablishing the payment chain, strengthening trust.

He explained that “economically we are at a point of very low activity, which affects our provincial taxes and what comes from co-participation such as VAT.”

“Although own collection has been maintained at normal levels, at real levels when inflation comes into play it shows a drop, because in this context people try to cover other needs,” he added.

Regarding Gross Income, which represents close to 80% of provincial taxes, it is “closely related to activity, which is why it has also had a negative impact in this quarter due to the drop in industry and commerce activity.” .

In relation to the current situation with the municipalities, with whom we are up to date despite the drop in activity. “We also aim for activity to grow and return to normal values with the reactivation of the economy.”

Finally, Minister Sánchez highlighted the efforts of the Province, which assumed the commitment to maintain the Teacher Incentive Fund, cut by the Nation; as well as aid to the transportation service due to the removal of subsidies, and some works that the provincial government managed to sustain.
