These days, the department of Cauca is suffering from the worsening of the war and the excessive attacks of criminal organizations. This last week in particular, violent actions and harassment of the Public Force and the civilian population have intensified, causing the death of police and civilian population.

“Either we collect the Public Force so that it is not cannon fodder or we expand the force, because we are exposing them, they are going to criticize me, but we must unite to demand greater capabilities from the National Government,” stated the governor.

He revealed that in his territory 11 armed structures commit crimes “Here we have all illegal organizations at war, violating human rights and international humanitarian law, if we do not do something, we will continue to mourn our children, the civilian population and the Public Force,” he noted.

Day by day, The department of Cauca heads the list with the highest number of forced recruitment of minors. “This must lead us to action, while we go through this pain, we must still act,” added the president.

Finally, he urged the national law enforcement authorities to order the installation of a permanent security council in the territory, and not an occasional one.

“We are losing the war because we are unequal, there are more of them, we are not on equal terms,” the governor concluded.
