Caffa, in communication with the portal Agenfor Indian: “With the Minister of Economy, Treasury and Finance, Dr. Jorge Ibáñez, we had a meeting with the technical team of the project for the construction of the new bridge between the town of Colonia Cano, province of Formosa, in the Argentine Republic, and the other head in Pilar, Department of Ñeembucú, Paraguay”.

Thanks to the management and strategic planning of Formosa, including Provincial Route No. 9, it was decided to locate the bridge in Formosa territory. At the moment, The technical teams are evaluating four possible locations and preparing the Argentine position for the next bilateral meeting with Paraguaywhich will be held on June 6 in Buenos Aires, at the Embassy of Paraguay.

The official explained that this meeting is one more of those that have been held, mentioning that “It is a project that the province had been proposing for a long time, where Chaco also requested the construction of the bridge in its territory”. However, due to “All the management and strategic planning that the province did, for example, with Provincial Route No. 9, it was decided to have the choice of building the bridge in Formosa territory”. At the moment, “With the technical teams we are talking about the location alternatives, of which there are four.”

Caffa expressed his optimism that the bridge will be one of the great works of the province, highlighting its location in the Tropic of Capricorn corridor., which connects the ports of the Atlantic Ocean with those of the Pacific, crossing Formosa and Chaco. The project’s technical team is making rapid progress, and it is expected that the project will soon be completed and construction of this important infrastructure will begin.

Rafael Farromeque, member of the CAF team, presented the progress of the Border Territorial Connectivity Optimization project. He pointed out that the construction of the Cano-Pilar Bridge will boost regional production and strengthen relations and cooperation between Argentina and Paraguay.

Farromeque explained that the pre-investment stage of the project began in June of this year and will extend until October 2024, when the financing phase will begin. After a few months of structuring the financing, the complete construction and commissioning of the bridge is expected to take place between 2025 and 2028.
