Presence of FARC dissidents admitted in indigenous reservations of Sácama » PRENSA LIBRE CASANARE

The Army in the department of Casanare admitted the presence of armed people in indigenous reservation areas in Sácama, which generates confusion about security in the areas.

Regarding the incident, Colonel Edgar Ricardo Bernal, Director of Security and Coexistence, indicated that after intelligence work it was determined that they are indeed men who belong to the GAOR, the Organized Armed Group of the FARC dissidents, who after having been Confronted by Army troops, they decided to take shelter in the reservations, where the Public Force cannot access precisely due to the internal regulations of the indigenous people.

He added that Brigade 16 has been carrying out operations in the Sinaí area, which has destabilized the armed group Frente 28 and the members of this group have moved to the mountain range to avoid further clashes, which has resulted in their presence in different sectors. . Current operations focus on sustainability in the area, which has led to these movements by armed groups.

He indicated that these actions, which violate International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, have already been reported to the competent authorities; the indigenous reservations, which must be respected due to their special status, have become a refuge for these illegal groups. The public force faces restrictions to operate in these areas, which further complicates the situation.
