Private schools increase in the Province: How much will June fees cost?

The Province authorized private schools that receive state subsidies to increase school fees up to 7.5% starting in June. So far this year, the accumulated increases in these institutions were 38.4%.

After the claim made by the Association of Private Education Institutes of the province of Buenos Aires (Aiepba), the administration of Axel Kicillof authorized a few days ago a new scheme of “tariff caps” for all levels and modalities of teaching with a average increase of 7.5%.

This increase allows institutions to increase above the 3.35% that had been stipulated in the agreement that some entities signed with the Government within the framework of Fair Prices.

The agreement, at that time, established limits on increases until July 31, but rising inflation changed the guidelines. Although in May the adjustment was going to be 3.35%, the Province finally authorized 6.70%, while in June there will be an increase of 7.5% that will place the quotas at around 38.4% in the year, below the 41.5% increase in teachers’ salaries.

Caps and quotas from June

-Schools with 100% subsidy: tariff cap of $18,760 pesos at the initial and primary level, $20,680 pesos at the secondary level, and $23,840 pesos at technical, agricultural and art-specialized secondary schools.

-Schools with 80% subsidy: initial and primary tariff caps of $34,610 pesos; in secondary school $39,170 pesos and in technical, agricultural and specialized secondary schools $44,850 pesos.

-Schools with less than 80% subsidy: tariff caps of $84,770 pesos in initial and primary, $110,150 pesos in secondary and $126,070 pesos in technical, agricultural and specialized secondary schools in art.
