The delivery of merchandise stored since December in the Villa Martelli and Tafí Viejo warehouses will last two weeks, taking into account the expiration dates of the products.

“To guarantee fast, efficient logistics without intermediaries, the operation will have the collaboration of the Argentine Army and the Ministry of Defense,” the ministry detailed in a statement.

“CONIN must certify, through the presentation of reports, the periodic progress and in a final report, the effective use of food by the canteens,” it was added.

Controversy over the unequal distribution of powdered milk to the provinces

The scandal in the Ministry of Human Capital over the storage of nearly 6 million kilos of food that had to be delivered to the canteens added a new chapter this Monday when the unequal distribution of expiring milk decided by the Government became known.

Hours after Pettovello’s announcement about the agreement with the CONIN Foundation, it became known how those kilos of milk would be distributed among the provinces, with clear discretion in the distribution. The province that will receive the most kilos is Mendoza, a situation that attracted attention given that the process will be in charge of the Ministry of Defense, headed by Luis Petri from Mendoza.

The six provinces that follow Mendoza among those that receive the most kilos are all allies of the Government. The Buenos Aires suburbs, where more than 10 million Argentines live, receives fewer kilos of food than Tierra del Fuego, where only 152,317 people live.
