A group of neighbors, led by the president of the Federation of Neighborhood Councils (Fejuve) of Santa Cruz, Omar Rivera, This Tuesday they blocked the entrance to the Palmasola Refinery, where they protested the shortage and low quality of fuel at the pumps and the long lines to buy liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in bottles.

“It is an attitude of protest and claim and demanding the resignation or dismissal of the general manager of Yacimientos en Santa Cruz (YPFB Logistics manager), Félix Cruz, we ask the President of the State that these indolent, ineffective authorities are plunging us into chaos, into social desperation,” said Rivera.

With a series of documents in hand, the leader stated that Cruz is lying because reports on gas (LPG) distributors are adulterated and that, according to a quality verification certification, YPFB would be selling low-quality fuel.

“They are selling us garbage At this moment and it cannot be, they are making shipments to the suppliers at 50, 30, 40% and we cannot allow this,” he indicated, in time to announce that In 48 hours they would block again the refinery his Cruz is not dismissed.

For his part, the president of YPFB, Armin Dorgathen, stated that LPG cannot be missing in Santa Cruz, because it is national production and the deposits are “at their maximum.”

“Here are a problem with a distributor, According to what we have done the analysis yesterday (…), we are going to have the measures in this regard. Now, for the entire population, we have at the YPFB service stations, we have put LPG sales points and also in the Palmasola plant”, held.

Complaints of overpricing

According to the executive, complaints have been received in the media that Some distributors would be delivering the LPG bottle at Bs 25 and 30 in neighborhood stores, so it will be investigated and if responsibilities are found, the contract with the distributor will be terminated. He indicated that the price should not vary from Bs 22.50.

LPG overdemand

The National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) indicated yesterday that the queues that have been recorded in the different LPG distribution agencies were due to a excess demand for the product in times of low temperatures and also to resellers.

“Due to the season of low temperatures there has been an excess demand which has been covered, also yesterday (Sunday) the capital and provincial distributors served normally. Yes, rows have been recorded, but the product (LPG) is not in short supply“, indicated Lesly Lanza, regional director of the ANH in Santa Cruz.
