Within the framework of World Blood Donor Day to be commemorated on June 14 and Argentine Red Cross Day next Monday, June 10, San Juan residents will be able to donate blood and help save lives.

The initiative is proposed by the Argentine Red Cross San Juan Branch and the Universidad de Congreso, San Juan headquarters, together with the Provincial Institute of Hemotherapy (IPHEM). The objective is to supply public hospitals with available blood levels. The collection will take place next Tuesday, June 11, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the facilities of the Universidad de Congreso, located at Entre Ríos Norte 128, in the Capital.

The requirements to donate are: to be in good health, be over 18 years old and weigh more than 50 kilos. During the day of donation, you should not attend on an empty stomach; But eat lightly, avoiding dairy and fats. It is worth remembering that it is mandatory to attend with ID.

“It is important to emphasize that blood is one of the resources that cannot be manufactured in laboratories; The only way to obtain it is through donation. With one person who comes forward and donates, up to four lives can be saved,” said Leandro Martín, spokesperson for the Red Cross.

In this way, Martín invited all San Juan residents to carry out this humanitarian act to help patients who are in this sad situation.

The institution offers to respond to all concerns through its social networks, finding them on Instagram as @crargsanjuan and on Facebook as the Argentine Red Cross San Juan Branch.
