The list of the remaining Colombian EPSs under government control increases week after week; This Wednesday it was announced that Salud Bolívar voluntarily requested to be withdrawn from the Social Health Security System.

This means that the Health Superintendency, under the mandate of Luis Carlos Leal, must rigorously analyze the financial situation of this EPS to make a decision.

Of the health promotion entities that operate in Colombia, Compensar, Sura have requested their voluntary withdrawal and Salud Bolívar has joined, another giant of the system which serves, in Bogotá alone, 3,500 users.

Now, Salud Bolívar EPS, which has been operating for three years, clarified that While its situation is defined, it will continue to serve its members in other regions of Colombia.not only in the capital.

Salud Bolívar is part of Seguros Bolívar, an entity that in turn is part of Grupo Bolívar, one of the most solid business conglomerates in the country.

On the other hand, SuperHealth has forced other giants of this conglomerate to intervenesuch as Sanitas, Nueva EPS, Famisanar, SOS de Comfandi in Valle del Cauca, Asmet Salud, Savia Salud, among others.

What is worrying about this situation in the health sector in Colombia is that the number of users with EPS in the hands of the Petro government amounts to 27 millionand to operate again without the magnifying glass of the governing body, they must show sufficient financial capacity for a period of one year.

Meanwhile, those who ask to be voluntarily removed from the system, to reach the formal request, must meet certain requirements and SuperSalud gives a final decision.
