President Javier Milei reiterated his intentions to veto the eventual new retirement formula and indicated that he “doesn’t give a damn” about the legislative support that the initiative has had, at the same time he boasted of having fired “25 thousand state employees,” and advancement: “We are going to lay off 50 thousand more.”
He did so during his participation in the Latam Economic Forum, the finance and economics event taking place in Parque Norte.
During his speech, the president also referred to the adjustment: “They began to question its quality; Out of 123 years we had a 113 deficit. It was not easy to do it,” and he added that “unlike others who ended up flying through the air with a half-point adjustment, we made a seven-point adjustment, we are standing here and we are going to continue fighting.”
Regarding the fiscal balance, and the day after the half-sanction of the new retirement formula in the Chamber of Deputies, he stated: “Every time the degenerate fiscal politicians of politics want to go and break it, I am going to veto everything. “I don’t give a damn.”
“It is true that politics gets in the way, it gets dirty. When you look at the Bases Law plus the DNU there is a question of returning freedom to citizens, of making markets more pro-competitive, and there is a third element which is ending jobs. Along the same lines, he expanded: “I don’t care about anything. In another passage of his speech, the president assured that 90% of the adjustment he is carrying out is made up of a state “chainsaw”, and clarified that only 10% is a “blender”, and revealed that he will advance with the layoffs in the State until cancel 75 thousand contracts.
