President Javier Milei reiterated his intentions to veto the eventual new retirement formula and indicated that he “doesn’t give a damn” about the legislative support that the initiative has had, at the same time he boasted of having fired “25 thousand state employees,” and advancement: “We are going to lay off 50 thousand more.”

He did so during his participation in the Latam Economic Forum, the finance and economics event taking place in Parque Norte.

During his speech, the president also referred to the adjustment: “They began to question its quality; Out of 123 years we had a 113 deficit. It was not easy to do it,” and he added that “unlike others who ended up flying through the air with a half-point adjustment, we made a seven-point adjustment, we are standing here and we are going to continue fighting.”

Regarding the fiscal balance, and the day after the half-sanction of the new retirement formula in the Chamber of Deputies, he stated: “Every time the degenerate fiscal politicians of politics want to go and break it, I am going to veto everything. “I don’t give a damn.”

“It is true that politics gets in the way, it gets dirty. When you look at the Bases Law plus the DNU there is a question of returning freedom to citizens, of making markets more pro-competitive, and there is a third element which is ending jobs. This third point explains this very strongly,” she developed.

Along the same lines, he expanded: “I don’t care about anything. Yesterday the degenerate prosecutors, one of the things they did, boasting of being chaste and believing themselves to be more than the rest of the people, while in order to approve a law that favors the rest of the Argentines except for the jets, they have it on hold for six months “They are quick to raise their salaries by 80%.”

“They are seeking to break the fiscal balance,” he stated while admitting that he will imitate his counterpart from El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, who “governed by pure veto” during his first presidency in 2019. “Everything that the degenerate fiscals did, they I vetoed all of them, which is what I’m going to do,” Milei anticipated.

On the other hand, the president dedicated a few minutes to explaining in detail his rejection of the privileged retirement that former presidents receive and alluded to the sayings of Miguel Ángel Pichetto: “Yesterday a deputy began to defend privileged retirements. Since it is an acquired right, it is not that I am going to touch those who are behind. That is to say that they play from me forward.”

“I can spend four or eight years if everything goes very well, but then, once I’m done with this, I’m going to have to go out to work, so I have to actively take care of doing things that are good because otherwise the day Afterwards I’m starving. What conferences am I going to sell if I was a disaster as President? It’s not a minor issue. They think that doing the wrong thing is normal, there is total insurance (privilege retirements), what insurance? It’s over, if they do things wrong, they’ll starve themselves,” he attacked.

The promise to advance with the chainsaw in the State: “We are going to fire 50 thousand more”

In another passage of his speech, the president assured that 90% of the adjustment he is carrying out is made up of a state “chainsaw”, and clarified that only 10% is a “blender”, and revealed that he will advance with the layoffs in the State until cancel 75 thousand contracts.

“I don’t know if you remember, that my phrase is “outside” recognized internationally, and it led me to reduce the number of ministries by half. That was not free because obviously we fired people, in terms of contracts we are going to fire 75 thousand and We took 25 thousand, we eliminated discretionary transfers to the provinces, and public works,” he pointed out.

As a counterweight, he also revealed that his Government was committed to “carrying out a strong policy of social containment,” and highlighted the work of the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello, “who has been so torpedoed in recent days.”

“We made a tremendous adjustment and we only have a social claim from the poverty managers,” he shielded himself, and expanded: “They believed it was free, obviously all the people who were losing their jobs were going to get angry and they are operating it at she”.

In the final section of his speech, the President asked to create “the correct institutions, be it the DNU, the Bases Law”, which he described as “phase 1 of the structural reforms” to establish “the conditions so that in a period of time In, at most, 40 years, we will once again be a world power.”
