More than 2,500 Riojans will vote for the first time in Sunday’s elections

In total, 250,008 citizens are called to the polls in La Rioja and in order to exercise the right to vote, 414 tables will be set up distributed in the 249 polling stations. Regarding the possibility of voting by mail, it has been requested by 15,567 Rioja men and women included in the Resident Electoral Census (CER), of which 15,542 have been accepted and 25 have been denied for different reasons.

In addition, 14,413 Riojans will debut their right to vote in European Elections after the 2019 European Parliament elections, 2,559 will do so since the General Elections on July 23.

During the electoral event next Sunday, which coincides with La Rioja Day, 834 agents will ensure that everything takes place absolutely normally. Specifically, 160 National Police officers, 630 Civil Guard officers and 44 Local Police officers will be deployed. In total, 5,894 people will be part of the electoral process management operation, of which around 40% are substitute table members who will not have to intervene, in theory.

During the day, the National Police Headquarters in Logroño and the service that exists in Calahorra will issue certificates to exercise the right to vote for voters who do not have their DNI that same day for different reasons.
