“Argentina will grow with the field, never without the field or against the field”

This Thursday, Governor Martín Llaryora participated in Armstrong, province of Santa Fe, at the opening of AgroActiva 2024the mega exhibition of the agricultural sector that takes place until June 8.

In his speech, The president made a strong defense of the “field”, asked for the removal of the “damned” withholdings and assured that “Argentina will grow with the countryside, never without the countryside and even less against the countryside.”

Before a large audience, composed mainly of agricultural producers, Llaryora reiterated his request for the national government to remove withholdings on the countryside.

President Javier Milei, who also attended Armstrong’s exhibition, crossed paths with the governor of Córdoba and they embraced each other.

“We must give added value to production”

The governor agreed on Armstrong with his counterparts from Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pullaro; and Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio.

In his speech, Llaryora made an energetic defense of the productive sectors, asked for progress on a new Biofuels law, defended the agri-food sector and expressed the importance of giving added value to production.

The field, in its greatest expression, is production, innovation and technology. The countryside always gives added value to our country“said Llaryora.

And reiterating his assumption about export rights (the so-called withholdings) he said: “When taxes start to go down, let’s also start to lower withholdings.” He also mentioned the numbers that the withholdings represented for the province since their implementation: “In 2023 Córdoba contributed 3.5 billion dollars in withholdings and more than 40 billion dollars since this tax was imposed in the country.”

When referring to biofuels and the historic claim of Córdoba, the provincial leader insisted on the need to have a “clear law on biofuels, to give added value to our countryside and not have the grains leave (barely) through the port.”
