As Edward Hamilton Moreno Menathe uniformed officer assigned to the Judicial and Criminal Investigation Section (SIJÍN) of the National Police in Quindío was identified, who was murdered with a firearm in the municipality of Montenegro.
According to preliminary information from the authorities, the member of the public force was attacked when he left his parents’ home located in the Colón neighborhood of the coffee emporiumat that moment he was approached by a subject who fired multiple shots.
Morena Mena was immediately transferred to the local Roberto Quintero Villa hospital. but unfortunately he passed away product of the severity of the injuries.

The Secretary of the Interior of Quindío, Juana Camila Gómez Zamoranopointed out that all investigative activities and padlock plans are already being carried out to find the whereabouts of the person responsible for the homicide of the patrolman.
“We regret this situation and send a message of condolence to the family of the uniformed man. We have deployed all the operational capabilities of the National Police and the Prosecutor’s Officeto be able to find the whereabouts of this person as soon as possible,” said Juana Gómez.
The official indicated that given the disturbances in public order that have been recorded in recent days, An Extraordinary Departmental Security Council will be held in the next few hoursto determine what plans, actions and operations will be implemented in this municipality.
