A 34-year-old man admitted having participated in two attempted robberies of homes in the city of Santa Fe and agreed to be sentenced.

Criminal judge Jorge Patrizi admitted the abbreviated trial agreement signed by Matías Leonardo Alzugaray, and passed the file to resolution. The brief had the endorsement of prosecutor Rosana Peresín and public defender Virginia Balanda.

Alzugaray recognized the authorship of the crimes of “attempt of robbery qualified by burglary” and “attempt of robbery qualified for being in circumstances of robbery qualified by burglary.” In addition, he agreed to serve the sentence of 1 year and 8 months in prison, the execution of which will be suspended due to the lack of convictions.

Along these lines, after admitting the abbreviated trial, the magistrate ordered the release of Alzugaray, preventing him from a series of behavioral measures. Among these, establishing an address, a prohibition of contact with the victims and a measure of distance from them and their homes, and the prohibition of consuming narcotics and abusing alcoholic beverages.

Both events occurred this year. The first dates back to the night of March 29, when Alzugaray entered, along with another man, a home located near 6432 Rivadavia Street.

They entered through the patio, after jumping over a two-meter wall, and opened the house’s shed. From there they stole a Dewalt drill, a blowtorch, two tin soldering irons, six rolls of copper cables, four hammers, two cutters, three screwdrivers, a pliers, two parrot keys, a wrench, a pruning shears, a three kilo bottle and a red errand cart.

They were not able to take the things, since when they fled they ran into the police.

The second robbery, for which Alzugaray ended up behind bars and decided to hold the abbreviated trial, occurred on June 1.

It was around 8 in the morning when he jumped over a wall of at least two and a half meters and then forced the metal lock of the back door of a house in Miter at 7500.

From there he took out a black Emachines brand laptop computer, two black Genius brand computer speakers, a black Hipro brand computer charger and a black energy reflector with no visible brand.

However, Alzugaray did not manage to seize the items, since neighbors in the area realized what was happening and police personnel ended up apprehending him.
