IDEA celebrates 60 years working for Antioquia

The Institute for the Development of Antioquia (IDEA) begins the celebration of its sixtieth anniversary, commemorating six decades of commitment to regional progress in Antioquia. Founded in 1964, the IDEA has been a fundamental pillar in supporting projects that have contributed significantly to the transformation and improvement of the quality of life in the department.

IDEA’s legacy has been characterized by promoting development and transformation in the region through support for diverse projects that have left a significant mark in Antioquia. These initiatives include the electrification of rural areas, the construction of tunnels, cycle routes, sports facilities, as well as the improvement of educational and health infrastructure. These projects have been vital for the socioeconomic development of the region, reflecting responsible and efficient management of public resources.

This institution emerged after the disappearance of the Antioquia Railway, taking advantage of the resources from its disposal to continue promoting regional progress. The festivities for IDEA’s 60th anniversary began on June 4 and will last until August 28, the date of its establishment. During this period, academic, cultural and sporting events will be held that will highlight the impact of IDEA in the region, as well as foster dialogue about future challenges and opportunities.
