Within the framework of his visit to Iquique, the Minister of Sports met with the athletes belonging to the IND Promesas Chile Program, an opportunity in which he delivered new technical implementation of measurement and studies for the development of outstanding athletes in the region.

Taking advantage of his visit to Iquique, where he met with regional authorities to deepen the scope of the public account of President Gabriel Boric, the Minister of Sports, Jaime Pizarro met with prominent athletes from the region whom he greeted and gave them a new technological implementation to sports measurement and development.
This was explained by the Seremi del Deporte, Vania Llantén, who added that the inauguration of the Laboratory of Applied Sports Sciences will benefit about a hundred athletes from the region, especially belonging to the Promesas Chile Program of the IND Tarapacá.
“The Minister of Sports was ordered by our President Gabriel Boric to highlight the main announcements made in his public account, where sport was an important axis of great news. In this sense, the inauguration of the Laboratory of Applied Sports Sciences is a milestone that reinforces the dedication that this administration is putting into competitive and high-performance sports,” Seremi noted.
In this regard, the regional authority highlighted that the launch of this new study space in the Regional Training Center means a great contribution to the preparation work of the outstanding athletes of Tarapacá. “Together with the multidisciplinary team that exists in the Promesas Chile Program, these new technological equipment will allow a more precise and scientific preparation of our athletes, in order to improve and face competitions in a better way,” said Vania Llantén.
Likewise, the Seremi del Deporte added that the delivery of this material means a great advance for the development of the Regional Training Center (CER). “With this laboratory, our regional sports facilities become one of the most modern in the country, as it has high-value and very specific instruments for the development of high-performance athletes,” said the authority.
CHILE PROMISES
The material delivered by the Minister of Sports, Jaime Pizarro, meant an investment of close to 15 million pesos, which will benefit nearly a hundred athletes from different disciplines such as judo, weightlifting, para-swimming, surfing, shooting. bow, karate and taekwondo, among others.
“We are happy, because as a ministry we are supporting the outstanding athletes of Tarapacá, because we want to expand the base of athletes that feed the different national teams of Team Chile. We are going to continue betting on this development, especially when as a country we are hosting important sporting events,” added Minister Pizarro.
Within the material that is part of this laboratory, we can highlight implements such as a complete ISAK Anthropometric evaluation set, height meter, Seat & Reach test evaluation box (trunk flexibility), sitting height measurement box, Omron body composition scale, Photocells (High Precision Stopwatch), Witty SEM Traffic Light (Agility Evaluation), Linear Encoder (Total Force Evaluation and MRI), Pasco Force Platform (Implement to evaluate Force Power such as, for isometric strength), Weight Evaluation Machine blood lactate (Metabolic Stress) and the Neural Trainer, cognitive training equipment through auditory and visual stimuli.
We must remember that all this technological advance is supported by a group of health and sports professionals who are part of the multidisciplinary team of the Promesas Chile program, such as the kinesiologist, Manuel Lastra; physical trainer, Ángel Jeraldo; sports psychologist, Ethel Vera and sports nutritionist, Danniela García.
