Willy Rodríguez, mayor of San José del Guaviare, spoke in Marandua Noticias about the commemoration of the 48 years of San José del Guaviare as a municipality in the department of Guaviare.
It was on July 7, 1976 by Decree 1165 of 1976 issued by the Vaupés Commissioner’s Council, when the decision was made to elevate San José del Guaviare as a municipality.
The mayor extended his invitation to the community to join this commemoration that will begin with a Eucharist that will be presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese of Guaviare, Monsignor Nelson Jair Cardona.
The president made reference to the characteristics of the municipality as the capital city of the department and the role it plays in the region in terms of progress and development, emphasizing that in these 48 years it can proudly show its progress.
He highlighted the cultural diversity that San José del Guaviare has, which is reflected with the Colonies Festival that shows the development potential that those families that have arrived in this territory from different regions for many years have contributed to the region. from the country.
On the other hand, he referred to the territory of opportunities that is San José del Guaviare, therefore it is one of the most outstanding bets in the region. Finally, after having outlined part of the history of Guaviare, he announced that he will be very attentive to organizing the commemoration of the first 50 years of the municipality.
Regarding the road safety week in San José del Guaviare, Mayor Willy Rodríguez stated that as an authority in the municipality he will carry out forceful actions to provide protection for the lives of the actors in the issue of road safety with the aim of reducing accidents. in the municipality, which unfortunately is the second causal factor in deaths.
He expressed that the Decree that will be issued with the objective of establishing mobility control measures so that the community is aware of the importance of abiding by the measures
Training, forums, meetings with unions and the community will be held as spaces for enlightening citizens. They will be the main components of the road safety week. The services fair on the 11th in the government square, a road safety forum and for the closing Car-free day will be held voluntarily.
