The students and parents stood outside the campus for 60 minutes and, crossing chairs in poor condition on the road, interrupted the passage through this busy sector.

With this action, the students and their parents seek to draw the attention of the authorities to solve the problems they face with educational furniture.

Yovanis Pérez Iglesia, father of the family, assured that “the Madre Amalia Educational Institution is in calamity because the students do not have good chairs, the chairs do not have arms and the school is being undermined. We ask Mayor Yahir Acuña to collaborate with us that the students need chairs because they are not receiving classes in decent conditions and they already have spinal problems.”

Some improvements have been made, but they are not enough. There are more than 150 students who must sit in uncomfortable chairs, without arms, from 6:30 in the morning until 12:30 at noon. It is unheard of that money is invested in other things while the children of Sincelejo do not have chairs to sit on.”

In turn, the students Royel Dávila and Carlos Antonio Luna, the latter is the representative of the schoolthey assured that the educational headquarters has been abandoned for years and that is why they got tired and went out to protest.

“They have us neglected and abandoned like institution. We have done all kinds of requests asking for infrastructure, chairs and technology and they have never paid attention to us. We believe it is time to put an end to this situation,” said the Madre Amalia student representative.
