University of Camagüey celebrates the legacy of Russian writer Alexander Pushkin

Camagüey, June 7.- The Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz University of Camagüey, coordinated by the Faculty of Languages ​​and Communication, celebrated World Russian Language Day, this event served to highlight the values ​​of the Russian language and the rich culture of this nation European, in addition to paying tribute to the birth of the illustrious Russian writer, Alexander Pushkin.

The event was attended by Russian students who are currently doing an internship at our institution, as well as local students and professors. Dr.C. José Emilio Hernández Sánchez presided over the day, offering a review of the most outstanding aspects of that nation’s culture, placing special emphasis on its literature.

The choice of this date by the United Nations Organization, 14 years ago, had the objective of promoting equality between the six official languages ​​of the organization English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Chinese and Russian and promoting cultural and linguistic diversity .
