On June 14, 2024, the Fourth Permanent Constitutional Commission of the Senate of the Republic will hold an important decentralized session in the district of Guaimaro, municipality of Salamina, department of Magdalena.

This event, which will take place at the emblematic Casa Grande de los Caraballos (Calle 10 with Carrera 5), ​​starting at 8:00 in the morning, aims to address the challenges faced by secondary and tertiary roads in the region and their impact on the rural economy.

It is worth noting that the problem of secondary and tertiary roads has significantly affected movement and land communication, influencing the rural economic dynamics of the department of Magdalena.

This decentralized session offers a space for dialogue and collaboration between national and local authorities, as well as with the private sector, economic unions and representative communities, in order to find viable and effective solutions.

The event will be attended by prominent national government officials, including the Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Ricardo Bonilla González; the Minister of Transportation, William Camargo Triana; the director in charge of Invias, María Constanza García Alicastro; the director of the National Planning Department, Alexander López; the director of the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), Francisco Ospina Ramírez; the director of the National Disaster Risk Management Unit (UNGRD) Carlos Carrillo.

Also invited are the Minister of Agriculture, Jhenifer Mojica Flórez; the Minister of Housing, City and Territory, Catalina Velazco Campuzano; the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, María Susana Muhamad González; the Vice Minister of Water and Basic Sanitation, Aníbal Pérez García; the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Guillermo Alonso Jaramillo; the director of the Administrative Department for Social Prosperity, Gustavo Bolívar Moreno, the governors of Magdalena, Rafael Alejandro Martínez, and Atlántico, Eduardo Verano De la Rosa.

This meeting is emerging as a unique opportunity for national and local entities, the private sector and the community to express their concerns and proposals in search of fostering an environment of cooperation and comprehensive development for the Caribbean region.

The organizing committee revealed that a special invitation has been extended to the extraordinary session of Commission IV of the Senate to the Executive Director of Cormagdalena, Álvaro José Redondo Castillo, as well as to the Ombudsman, Carlos Ernesto Camargo Assis, to the director of the National Agency of Lands, Juan Felipe Harman and the ministers of Mines and Energy, Andrés Camacho; of ICT’s, Mauricio Lizcano; of Culture, Juan David Correa; from the Interior, Luis Fernando Velasco, from Sports, Luz Cristina López; of Justice, María Mónica Martínez and the Minister of Education, Aurora Vergara Figueroa.

In addition, the invitation has been extended to the Acting Comptroller General of the Republic, Carlos Zuluaga Pardo, to the Attorney General of the Nation, Margarita Cabello Blanco, to the mayor of the Municipality of Salamina, Edwin Pabón Charris, to the members of the Municipal Council of Salamina , as well as local authorities, representatives of the private sector, economic unions and representative communities.
