Through an alliance with the universities of Valle del Cauca, the departmental government will provide the service of legal consultations to facilitate the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the most remote areas of the region.

This was announced by the Legal Director of the Department, Diana Lorena Vanegas, who indicated that approaches have already been made with the law faculties of the Santiago de Cali, San Buenaventura, and Icesi universities, “and we are also going to go to the universities that They are in regions like Uceva, in Tuluá.”

“Universities usually have their legal offices in the capital cities, but the idea is that we can go to the territories and generate a more timely and direct service, so that the person who lives in El Águila or Cairo, does not have to go to Cartago or come to Cali in search of legal support, but that we can provide that social service through our micro-regions,” Vanegas explained.

The strengthening of legal offices, which will begin with a pilot in the month of August, will also help avoid congestion in the judicial branch.

“People can go to a legal office, for example, if there is a debt or conflict between neighbors that can be resolved, issues of food for our children, issues of timely care in health services and an infinite number of issues that Many times they begin to grow when we can generate some type of help early so that these conflicts are resolved in the territory and not congest the judicial branch and also contribute to behaviors of peace and coexistence among citizens,” said Vanegas.
