The elected mayor emphasizes the importance of the agricultural sector in Nuevo Belén de Bajirá, highlighting that more than 10 thousand hectares of rice are produced per harvest, 40% of the banana destined for Europe comes from this region, in addition to passion fruit and cassava crops. Perea has a vision of sustainable agroindustrial development for the municipality in the coming years.

Regarding large infrastructures, Perea positions himself in favor of the Atrato-Truandó canal project proposed by President Gustavo Petro, arguing that this work would be one of the most important in Latin America and the world, with a transformative impact for the region.

In this sense, Perea and his team have taken concrete steps such as the creation of Canatcol AP (Atrato-Truandó Interoceanic Canal of Colombia) by community councils and indigenous reservations, seeking strategic alliances with national and international companies to carry out these large-scale projects.
