The DGE and YPF Foundation held the first STEAM 2024 women’s meeting – mendoza.edu.ar

In within the framework of the alliance between the Coordination of Technical Education and Work of the DGE and the YPF Foundation, through the INGENIAS+ Program, participated in the meeting with the firm purpose of reducing the gap between professional women and technology, and for them to go from being users to entrepreneurs, creators and producers of technology.

This Friday, a workshop called “Build Your Future in IT, How to use AI to achieve your ideal job?”, by the YPF Foundation and the Education and Talents team of the Media Chicas Organization, aimed at professional women in technical areas, mostly from Luján de Cuyo, which currently are taking the different online course proposals offered by the YPF Foundation within the framework of its Ingenias Program+which offers spaces to motivate, train and encourage STEAM disciplines.

The meeting was attended by the Coordinator of Technical Education and Work of the DGE, María Laura Quiroga; the Technical team of Technical Education and Work, Adriana Aguiar and Fabricio Rubí; the head of Technical Professional Training Programs in trades and renewable energies at the YPF Foundation, Evelyn Cels; the YPF Foundation Project Manager, Agostina Le-Calvet; the Executive Director of Media Chicas, Yas García and the Education and Talents team of the Media Chicas Organization; the education coordinator, Romina Barrionuevo and the talent team, Sol Chelini.

The day began with the presentation of the authorities of the YPF Foundation; the coordinator of Technical Education and Work of the DGE and the team of the Media Chicas Organization to 50 participants of a total of 120 women who are currently taking online some of the six training proposals offered by the YPF Foundation, within INGENIAS+ such such as courses on: Backend, Frontend, Data Analytics, Data Science, UX/UI Design and Cybersecurity.

On this occasion, the objective of the meeting was to address the previous knowledge that one has regarding the “dream job” and generate dynamics and collaboration spaces that allow building strategies to achieve personal expectations regarding the future of work, through AI tools. (Artificial Intelligence), which covers a variety of disciplines: computer science, data analysis, statistics, hardware and software engineering, linguistics, neuroscience and even philosophy and psychology.

The proposal was developed through two activities. Therefore, the first activity was individually and its sharing in groups where they shared a word cloud, while the second activity was a group activity with “The action plan for success” and the sharing with the reflection “The use appropriateness of AI”, creativity, critical analysis and data protection. Ending with a proposal for resources from Media Chicas.

In this sense, María Laura Quiroga, coordinator of Technical Education and Work of the DGE, expressed: “We have been working since 2021 together with the YPF Foundation to give these courses and these trainings, through Ingenias+, to bring them closer to new digital tools. , with very good experiences recognized by girls who have studied, graduated and have had the possibility of joining a company or undertaking different activities on a personal level, because this also makes it possible to demystify that the technical modality is for the male gender and that has The incorporation of female enrollment into each of our technical courses has been changing and the possibility of providing them with training with certifications, with a more agile and required job opportunity such as technological tools. It is extremely important and we are proud to see the results achieved by many of you. Thank you for staying in these trainings and we are going for more,” concluded the official.

Evelyn Cels, from the YPF Foundation, expressed: “Thanks to the link with the Coordination of Technical Education and Work we can reach many professional women, where the General Directorate of Schools accompanies us from the beginning in the communication of the program, especially in Luján of which. It should be noted that Ingenias+ is the program developed by the Foundation that allows women over 18 years of age to be approached and trained in digital skills. Although the foundation has its own networks, where the training offer of the courses developed are open and free, the link with the DGE stands out in the dissemination that makes it possible to hold this type of events and have a physical space where the Registered women can come, participate in the face-to-face meetings and have the material available. It is in this sense that the coordination with the DGE allows us to think about how to grow the program in Mendoza and have the security of its operation,” declared Cels.

For his part, Fabricio Rubí, from the Technical Education and Work Coordination team, stated: “We have been working with the YPF Foundation for a long time, with the Clubs program where in 2021 we will begin the first stage, and in 2022 We incorporated the Ingenias+ program, since then we have worked hand in hand with the two programs with excellent results, one of the main actions being to work on gender policies linked to technology whose efforts are valid, necessary and satisfactory, which is why we aspire to continue doing it. ”.

Meanwhile, Romina Barrionuevo, Education Coordinator of Media Chicas, highlighted: “We are satisfied with the meeting, in terms of the feedback from the Mendoza students; You can see the commitment, participation and drive, they are very committed to the courses, which makes us proud as an education team,” concluded Barrionuevo.

In this way, the Ingenias+ program, carried out jointly between the coordination of Technical Education and Work of the DGE and the YPF Foundation in the province of Mendoza, has given visibility to the female gender, with more participation of women who can occupy roles strategic in organizations. This has motivated, based on this proposal, to encourage more women to choose technical education and obtain a strong connection with the productive sector in different parts of the province.

Finally, Sol Chelini, from the Media Chicas Talent team, said that “in-person presence is necessary so that the girls know who they are studying with and, above all, they can express themselves regarding their desires to change professions or find new directions and know that all organizations are designed for this support. “In this meeting we were able to truly experience a wonderful experience and I congratulate our students from Mendoza for joining the different proposals that Ingenias+ offers.”
