This Monday, June 10, at approximately 10:54 am, a perceptible earthquake occurred in Santiago de Cuba – and according to information on social networks – in other provinces in eastern Cuba.

According to the first official reports, it had a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale and was located 7 km southeast of Santiago de Cuba.

Dr. Enrique Arango, Head of the National Seismological Service, reported on his profile on the social network Facebook that he was “located at the coordinates 19.95 degrees north latitude and -75.83 degrees west longitude, at a depth of 25.5 km.”

The specialist continued saying that “so far, reports of perceptibility have been received in the city of Santiago de Cuba and in several localities in the provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo, Granma and Holguín. At the close of the information, no material damage has been reported. nor human.”
