Jorge Mandiola, Spokesperson for ANFUCULTURA Tarapacá, during last year’s mobilizations.

The spokesperson for the Association of Cultural Officials of Tarapacá, Jorge Mandiola, confirmed that given the government’s failure to comply with the Strengthening Plan of the Ministry of Culture, MINCAP, it will join the warning strike that will take place on Wednesday. 26, as agreed at the national level.

Through a statement, issued by the national board of ANFUCULTURA, it is noted that: “The letter indicates that from the political and administrative management of Minister Arredondo and Undersecretary Salas, to date there is very little progress in compliance with these commitments to improvement and institutional strengthening.

They report that “the Budget Directorate of the Ministry of Finance has once again ignored the financing agreement for this plan, regarding the leveling of officials with salary gaps that was agreed on October 24 of last year for the period 2023 – 2026, arbitrarily and partially approving for the year 2024 the expenditure from July 1 of the current year and not for the 12 months as presented in the agreement, and also leaving out 39 officials this year, despite the fact that the resources are available in the current budget of the Undersecretariat of Cultures and the Arts.”

RECORD

It should be noted that already during 2023, there were intense mobilizations in the MINCAP, including in Tarapacá, where they demanded that working conditions be reduced, mainly in relation to the overload of work of the officials who had to supervise many projects. Also, when making new hires, MINCAP officials should be considered, since this could mean better conditions.

The statement concludes that: “During the next few days the organization will continue in a state of upward mobilization in all regional seremias attentive to the concrete actions taken by the authorities to guarantee compliance with the Institutional Strengthening Plan and accelerate its progress that already counts. a year late.”
