National Gendarmerie seized 84 pieces of wild ducks in the north of the province of Santa Fe. The birds had been hunted by French tourists illegally in Intiyaco.

The incident occurred when the members of the GNA’s “Avellaneda” Road Safety Section were stationed on Provincial Route No. 3, in the Santa Fe town of Intiyaco. There the gendarmes intercepted the movement of a truck that was carrying out suspicious maneuvers.

The vehicle was occupied by five French citizens and after questioning them, the gendarmes searched the interior of the vehicle, where they found that they were carrying 84 pieces of wild ducks of different species.

Likewise, they had three 12-gauge shotguns with documentation; 95 cartridges; two decoys; two whistles; two accountants; three bird callers; two magnetic circular bases; three pots of gummy substance prohibited hunting art; two mutes; a silencer for a rifle, two mining lanterns and a camouflage cloth for a station.

The five men were tourists and had arrived in the country exclusively to hunt. After verifying the information, the uniformed officers confirmed that the coordinator of the activity, an Argentine citizen, was carrying it out illegally and had a record from the year 2022, where live birds had been kidnapped and transported furtively in the double bottom of a van. .

In this way, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the town of Vera intervened, which ordered the confiscation of all the effects, including the vehicle. Personnel from the Santa Fe Ministry of Environment and Change intervened.
