After the success of its recently experienced “Mozart Special”, the Maule Classical Orchestra (OCM) is getting ready to dazzle the public with its fourth concert of the 2024 season, titled “Vientos y Cuerdas”. On Thursday, June 13, at 8:00 p.m., the Teatro RegionEl Maule will be the setting for a night dedicated to chamber music, with performances by two important composers: Frank Bridge and Joseph Rheinberger.

The program will begin with “Suite for String Orchestra, H.93 (1909)” by Frank Bridge, a work that encapsulates the elegance and virtuosity characteristic of the English composer. The suite promises to take the audience on a journey through lyrical passages and contrasting dynamics, highlighting the artistry technique and expressiveness of the OCM musicians.

Next, the orchestra will present the “Nonett for Winds and Strings in E flat major, Op. 139” by Joseph Rheinberger, a less frequent work in repertoires, but equally fascinante. This nonet masterfully combines winds and strings, creating complex and enveloping sounds that reflect the genius of the German composer.

Under the direction of Octavio Torres, the OCM will offer a show that promises to demonstrate the versatility of this cast and their level of interpretation.

Frank Bridge (1879-1941), one of the composers bmost prominent British musicians of his time, significantly influenced English music of the 20th century. Throughout his career, he embraced diverse styles, from late romanticism to impressionism and modernism. His ability to write for string instruments is particularly notable, featuring prominently in his chamber and orchestral works.

Joseph Rheinberger (1839-1901), German composer and organist, is remembered as a leading exponent of late Romanticism in Germany. Known for his mastery in the cChoral and chamber music composition, his works are characterized by elegant melodies, rich harmonies and a balance between contrapu traditionntistics and innovation.
