Samaritan karatekas stood out in Venezuela

In Maracaibo, Zulia State, in Venezuela, the 37th Genbukai Do Karate Cup was held, an internationally renowned event that brought together the most prominent exponents of Venezuelan karate. On this occasion, the Todomura group from Santa Marta, Colombia, enthusiastically accepted the invitation to this great tournament.

The group’s athletes demonstrated their skill and dedication in the different categories of karate, standing out among the international competitors. Julim Vázquez, Luciana López, Santiago López, Juan Acosta, Valeria Peraza, Avril Ballesteros, Santiago Garzón, Rodrigo Garzón, Sebastián Cacabelos and Emiliano Salvatore, under the direction of their teacher, sensei Jesús Cárdenas, proudly represented their school and their country.

The 2024 Genbukai Cup medal table reflects the hard work and excellence of the athletes of the Santa Marta group:

  1. Julim Vázquez, gold in Kata and bronze in Kumite
  2. Luciana López, gold in Kumite
