On June 10, the Priego de Córdoba Denomination of Origin held a harmonized tasting with Francisca García, Head of the Priego de Córdoba DOP Tasting Panel, and chef Juan Luis Santiago, from the Garum 2.1 restaurant, which took place in the Orive Palace in Córdoba.

The event began by welcoming all the authorities present representing the City Council of Córdoba, the Delegate of Agriculture of the Junta de Andalucía, the representation of the University of Córdoba as well as all the mayors and tourism technicians of the City Councils that They form the DOP region of Priego de Córdoba, Almedinilla, Carcabuey, Fuente Tójar and Priego de Córdoba.

The attendance of representatives of Córdoba gastronomy, as well as the media, representatives of companies in the sector and relevant personalities of Córdoba, was also appreciated, since it is an event aimed at the hospitality, restaurant and retail sectors. gourmets and the entire gastronomy sector of the province of Córdoba.

Immediately afterwards, a pairing tasting took place in which the distinctions and characteristics of the extra virgin olive oils of the Priego de Córdoba Protected Designation of Origin were announced, highlighting the three oils awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food: Award Foods from Spain Best Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Foods from Spain Award Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Bitter Green Fruity and Foods from Spain Award Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Sweet Green Fruity.

Finally, the different brands supported by the Priego de Córdoba DOP were tasted along with typical products from Córdoba, revealing where these oils are born and their oil tourism attractions.

Thanks to the family that forms the Priego de Córdoba DOP with its farmers, oil mills and marketers who have worked with dedication, effort and excellence, making the Priego de Córdoba Protected Designation of Origin the most awarded in the world with more than 2,900 awards.
