The actor Imanol Arias indicated this Tuesday before the court of the National Court after recognizing five tax crimes that he renounces using his right to the last word because he wants to “stop being at the head of this cast as soon as possible.”

This is how he spoke during the oral hearing being held against him, against the actress Ana Duato and almost thirty people in the framework of the ‘Nummaria case’. Imanol Arias has reached an agreement with the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office by which he accepts a prison sentence of 2 years and 2 months, although he will avoid going to prison.

He was the eighth to testify this Tuesday morning after seven other defendants who have also acknowledged the facts. In his turn, after being asked by the president of the court, Judge Ana Revuelta, if he knew how much the prison sentences were, the actor said yes, but pointed out that “he could tell them so that everyone knows.” world”.

The president, in response to this comment from the actor, explained that in the Courtroom everyone was aware of the sentences and therefore it was not appropriate to read them.

After this, Arias has confirmed that he has fully satisfied the compensation required by the Tax Agency for these five crimes, and has explained to the prosecutor’s questions that the idea of ​​establishing companies owned by other foreign companies came from his tax advisor Fernando Peña. , owner of the Nummaria law firm and the main investigator in this case.

“Why did you accept that corporate structure?” prosecutor Tomás Herranz asked him, to which he claimed ignorance, and pointed out that he was not in charge of those matters and believed that everything “was part of the necessary structure.”

In line, he has pointed out that he only dealt with his affairs with Fernando Peña and, although he has not responded to the rest of the defense, he has limited his relationship with the office to that person, denying having had any dealings with any of the other defendants.

In the agreement, the actor recognizes tax crimes in the personal income tax from 2010 to 2014 and accepts a total of 2 years and 2 months in prison plus a fine in the first two years of 50% of the amount defrauded, and one of 60% in the following years. last three exercises. The document states that the Prosecutor’s Office does not oppose the suspension of the sentences for a period of two years and highlights that the civil liability, including tax liability and tax late payment interest, is fully satisfied.
