In Chubut, lawsuits against social works for medical coverage are growing

In dialogue with the Invencibles program, hosted by Rodrigo Mansilla on FM EL CHUBUT 90.1 MHz, the Ombudsman, Claudia Bard, addressed the actions regarding medical coverage of social works. Bard mentioned that “everything that is health, medical benefits and so on, with all the modifications that have been made regarding deregulations, regarding medical providers, generated a lot of inconvenience.”

Although they do not have direct competition with private authorities, he stated: “We are dealing with many of these cases, because we see people who are really desperate and helpless, with many specific cases, they are not collective, they are individual, because each case of health requires particular situations.

Bard explained that “social benefits do not cover necessary interventions” such as medications, studies or operations. “They are necessary interventions and medication, or the percentages of medication coverage,” he said.

He indicated that “all this time we have had quite a few problems, both with the public health system, and with what it means to include health, which is the people who do not have social work and who remain in this national regime, and with many providers who do not provide coverage of some medications.

He also pointed out that claims for social work have grown considerably: “Claims for everything that has to do with the health system are growing a lot.” He highlighted the lack of protection of people who require medication, hospitalizations and coverage: “The difference is noticeable with other areas. Social works do not cover, for example, medication that is for chronic diseases, for diseases, in quotes, rare, among other things. “.
