During the day this Tuesday, the mayor of La Florida, Rodolfo Carter addressed the possibility of competing in the presidential race and beat the mayor of Providencia, Evelyn Matthei, in the primaries.

In dialogue with Radio Agricultura, the communal chief stated that “evidently, once I finish my work in December, “I am going to compete in the primary of Chile Vamos and I am going to beat Evelyn Matthei.”

“This is not a personal issue. It’s not about Matthei, or Kast, or me, or Kaiser, or Ximena Rincón. What is required here is a broad primary, with the greatest amount of participation, with the greatest number of ideas, because after the presidential debate is resolved, we are going to have to rebuild Chile”Carter commented.

Along these lines, the mayor of La Florida said that once that is over, different matters must be worked on, emphasizing security.

“Defeat crime, this time for real, treating Chileans like adults. Second, getting the economy going again, which is stopped, telling the truth, that you can’t continue giving away bonuses, giving more vacations,” he said.

Adding that “in that debate that is so fundamental to the personal history of every Chilean, clearly I am going to compete in that primary and I hope to win it.”
