More than one billion pesos will be the investment of the new rural health post in Puerto Puyuhuapi, whose first stone will be installed in the coming weeks. This infrastructure will benefit more than a thousand people and considers an execution period of 480 calendar days.
Puyuhuapi.- The news was delivered by the director of the Aysén Health Service, Juan Pablo Bravo, who visited the town located about 220 kilometers north of Coyhaique. “Next month we will be laying the first stone of the Puyuhuapi rural health post and thank the governor, the Regional Council that approved the budget to be able to award and in a month we will be with the company handing over the land,” said Juan Pablo Bravo Quintana.
While Marta Ramírez, social leader of health, energy, and environment of Puyuhuapi, pointed out that “it is a long-held aspiration of the community, it is a long-cherished dream. We have a super old post, both the original one that is still standing and the later one that is poorly maintained and has provided many services. We are a community that completely depends on the post to obtain our health care and we like that the professionals and officials who are going to be at the post are in a much more comfortable environment for them and us as well, than if those people are more comfortable, they obviously have a better disposition and more energy to continue working with the community,” he emphasized.

In turn, the director valued the meetings held with residents of the town of La Junta, where information was collected about the needs they have from that town in the north of the region. “In two months we are going to resume the conversations where we are going to show you what we plan as a health service, from now on in a medium and long term period and see how we approach health in the northern area of our region,” stated the director of the Aysén Health Service.
