This organization, according to investigations, would be involved in the transfer of tons of cocaine from the Colombian Caribbean to Spain and other European countries.
At the request of a prosecutor from the Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking, a guarantee control judge imposed a measure of deprivation of liberty on four alleged members of a criminal network, dedicated to transporting tons of cocaine through the Colombian Caribbean destined for Spain. and other European countries.
The individuals affected by this judicial decision are Arles Velasco Arenas, who is presumed to have served as logistics coordinator; Alejandro Quintero Marín, identified as one of the transporters of the narcotic; and Carlos Arcesio Vargas Hurtado, accused of alerting the authorities about police movements and facilitating the transportation of the shipments.
Likewise, Arcesio Vargas Quiroga has been linked to the process for his alleged participation in the illegal transportation of narcotics by land for this organization, and has already been deprived of his liberty in relation to another investigation.
According to what was established during the investigation, the cocaine left the illegal production areas in Cauca, hidden in special compartments of tractor-trailers, destined for Cartagena and Arjona (Bolívar), to then be sent by sea to the Iberian Peninsula, specifically to Spain.
The alleged suspects were captured by CTI agents, with the support of the US agency DEA, in operations carried out in Dosquebradas (Risaralda), Yumbo and Palmira (Valle del Cauca). The Prosecutor’s Office charged them, according to their level of responsibility, with the crime of aggravated trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics.
In relation to the charges, Vargas Hurtado, Velasco Arenas and Vargas Quiroga have accepted their responsibility, while Quintero Marín has chosen not to admit his participation in the events.
