‘The best plan’: Fontur campaign that invites national and foreign tourists to travel to Colombian destinations on vacation.

The campaign seeks to get more tourists to choose Colombian destinations in the mid-year holiday season. The announcement was made with the characteristic color and flavor of the Country of Beauty at the Ibagué transport terminal.

Under the campaign ‘The Best Plan’the National Tourism Fund – Fontur, will promote the destinations and tourist attractions of the Country of Beauty during the mid-year holiday season, in order to boost the flow of national and foreign tourists.

The announcement was made by general manager of Fontur, Álvaro Balcázarduring the inauguration of the murals of the Country of Beauty, where five talented plastic artists dedicated more than 10 days to beautify the Ibagué transport terminal, capturing the cultural wealth and traditions of the region in its work called ‘Ibagué Mágico’.

“On these vacations, the best plan is to travel through the Country of Beauty and what better than to visit all its departments, to enjoy its rich gastronomy and musical expressionsand enjoy their customs and cultural traditions”said the official. “We want to continue strengthening tourism and promoting the economic development of local communitiesso that everyone knows and appreciates the cultural and natural wealth of these beautiful regions”he added.

This campaign invites tourists to enjoy the various fairs and festivals that highlight traditions and that not only boost local economies, but also strengthen tourism, offering unique and authentic experiences to all those who experience them.

With a total of 14 approved projects, which add up to a investment of $10,580 millionMincomercio and Fontur have strengthened tourism in this department, concentrating on the strengthening of peaceful tourist territories, the promotion of destinations, competitiveness and tourist infrastructure, in addition to territorial investment.

* Strengthening tourism in peace tourism territories.

* Strengthening skills and promotion of experiential tourism, nature, culture, adventure, health and well-being.

* Improvement and maintenance of the property that allows tourism to be consolidated in the Market Square of the municipality of Honda.

* Update of ecotourism planning plans for socioeconomic use in the protected natural area of ​​National Natural Parks.

* Participation in Adventure Next Latin America.

* Construction of the tourist boardwalk in the port of the Darío Echandía dam, municipality of Prado.

* Diversification of the tourist offer in municipalities with risks associated with the environmental and climatic conditions of Nevado del Ruiz.

* Construction of tourist piers to strengthen regional tourism and river connectivity in Ambalema, Coyaima, Flandes, Natagaima, Prado and Suárez.

* Survey of internal spending on tourism in Ibagué.

* Participation in versions 42 and 43 of the Anato Tourist Showcase.

* Preparation and updating of tourist inventories in Alvarado, Anzoátegui, Armero, Cajamarca, Chaparral, Cunday, Espinal, Falan, Guamo, Icononzo, Planadas, San Luis, Valle de San Luis and Venadillo.
