The management team of the ministerial secretariat released a statement one week after the resignation of former seremi Sanhueza.
The regional management team of the Ministry of Public Works of the Aysén Region released a statement reaffirming its commitment to the application of the protocol against mistreatment and labor or sexual abuse within the department.
The statement was released almost a week after the resignation of former seremi Patricio Sanhueza, who is alleged to have engaged in bad labor practices with officials under his charge.
The statement states the following:
“The Regional Management Team of the Ministry of Public Works of the Aysén Region wishes to publicly express its firm and categorical conviction that no act that threatens the integrity of another person in the work and/or personal sphere is endorsed and permitted by us. ”.
“It is essential that each of the officials that make up the Ministry feel valued and protected, and that is why we will not tolerate conduct that threatens the integrity and well-being of people.”
“In this sense, the Ministry of Public Works has implemented and will continue to strengthen the MALS protocol to prevent, detect and punish any form of abuse, workplace or sexual harassment, continuously disseminating the contents and procedures that exist regarding this issue.”
“Finally, as a management team we maintain our willingness to listen and open the spaces that are necessary for officials, and to reinforce behaviors that aim to maintain the integrity and well-being of all officials of the Ministry of Public Works, promoting the installation of good practices and good treatment, so that our work environment improves every day and allows adequate coexistence in each of our teams.”
Currently, the MOP Aysén seremi is in charge of Paola Azócar, director of Architecture, who acts as surrogate, while names of probable replacements for Patricio Sanhueza are already parading for a seremia that is crucial for the development of this region.
