The disciplinary judgment carried out by the Attorney’s Office against the former mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero Callefor his alleged participation in politics during the 2022 presidential elections, has a definitive chapter this Wednesday, June 12.
From 9:00 am this Wednesday the closing arguments were given by the lawyer Hector Carvajallegal expert close to the president Gustavo Petro, who is in charge of the defense of the former president of the city.
The phrase “the change in the first place,” which Quintero Calle said in a video he published on his social networks during the presidential campaign, was the reason that led him to be called to account in court. With those words, the former mayor of Medellín “invited” people to vote for Gustavo Petro in the first presidential round and in this way avoid taking the electoral contest to a second stage so as not to lose it.
Since the process against Quintero began, his defense has requested an annulment appeal to free him from the consequences of, allegedly, having committed the crime.
